How can you thank someone for a lifetime of love?
It’s easy! As a child we pick flowers on the way home from school (dandelions or lilacs will do) and make a card with a box of 64 of Crayola’s finest colors.
Well, it is still that easy. Send a card, pick-up the phone – just do it!
Mother’s Day is NOT simply a Hallmark holiday. It is a day set aside to acknowledge all that your mother has done for you. The lessons taught, the examples set, the car pools driven and the support given. It’s a day to say, “I love you” or “I appreciate you.” And believe me we like the accolades!
There are lots of different mom’s in our lives. Grandmas that stepped in to take care of us, friend’s moms who included you in their family or neighbors with an open door policy and snacks on the ready. Mother’s Day is important for all moms.
Whether your children are young or grown, adopted, fostered, four-legged, or unofficially part of the fold – Thank you for dealing so gracefully with the good, bad, ugly and just plain disgusting that comes with motherhood.
So, on Sunday, May 8th celebrate the moms in your life. A simple gesture of love will go a long way. And possibly a glass or two of wine.
